Grand Teton Youth Conservation Program Hiring

MOOSE, WY— Grand Teton National Park is accepting applications for the summer 2019 Youth Conservation Program that is supported by the Grand Teton National Park Foundation.

The program offers ten weeks of employment and learning opportunity in Grand Teton National Park for teenagers between the ages of 16-19 years. Participants will work on trail maintenance, as well as preservation activities at historic sites throughout the park. The program also includes an educational element for the participants to learn about public land management, park history, fire management, search and rescue, and more.

Applicant skills and qualifications include good team skills, a strong work ethic, an interest in learning about Grand Teton National Park and the ability to work at a physically demanding job that will involve lifting 30-40 pounds and hiking up to 15 miles a day.

Participants should be able to work the entire ten weeks, June 17 through August 22. Participants must be at least 16 years of age by June 17 and have access to a place to live, as housing is not provided. Wages are $14.00 an hour and applicants must be United States citizens or have a valid work permit. The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Transportation to and from the town of Jackson each morning and afternoon will be provided.
