SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Over the upcoming Labor Day weekend, parking will be extremely limited in Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Alternative means of transportation, such as public transit, bicycle, taxi, or ride-share services are recommended to avoid traffic congestion. The three-day weekend will bring heavy traffic around the waterfront areas of GGNRA, the Presidio of San Francisco, and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Crissy Field, Baker Beach, Lands End, Fort Point National Historic Site and Aquatic Park are expected to be particularly congested.
In Marin County, traffic will be heavy and parking extremely limited along Conzelman Road and at Fort Baker.
There will be detours and road sign changes due to a traffic pilot program in the Marin Headlands.
The Baker-Barry Tunnel will be one-way westbound to vehicle traffic on Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2 to reduce heavy summer traffic in the Marin Headlands.
To plan for public transportation and receive same-day traffic information, call 5-1-1 or visit www.511.org.
Please be safe this holiday weekend. If you see something, say something. Call the US Park Police dispatch at 415-561-5505 if you see any suspicious activity, an unattended package, or need assistance.
You can prevent vehicle break-ins at parking lots and scenic overlooks by removing all your valuables and locking your doors before leaving your car.
For updates, please visit the park's Current Conditions webpage.
