West Glacier, MT – Artist-in-Residence Matthew Harrison will conduct members of the Glacier Chorale in a unique evening concert on Thursday, June 28th from 7 pm to 8 pm at the West Glacier Community Building in Glacier National Park.
The Glacier Chorale will sing music inspired by Ruder Elementary School student poetry from Columbia Falls, MT, music written for the NPS Centennial, and Harrison’s own compositions created during his time at Glacier.
Harrison arrived at the park on June 4th for a one-month stay. He is the first artist-in-residence of the year, and the first choral artist the park has ever hosted.
The Artist-in-Residence Program offers professional artists the opportunity to pursue their artistic discipline while being surrounded by the park’s inspiring landscape.
Through the program, each artist pursues their work while staying in the park, and then engages and inspires the public through walks, workshops, performances, and presentations.
For more information about Harrison, please visit his website. Details about other artists participating in this year’s Artist-in-Residence Program at Glacier can be found here.
Artist-in-Residence presentations are free and open to the public.
