An entrance pass is not required to access Fossil Butte National Monument.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

2025 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

4th graders can earn a free pass into national parks. The pass is good for September through the following August.

Fossil Butte National Monument issues passes that do not require a fee, including the Access Pass, Military Annual and Lifetime Passes, and Every Kid Outdoors passes.

If you're visiting several national parks, the annual pass may help you save money. Pro-tip: the pass is valid through the end of the month next year, so if you buy it at the beginning of the month, you get 13 months to use it in.

If you plan to visit other parks with an entrance fee, you may wish to learn more about the America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series. Additionally, every year there are several fee-free days.
