A list of terms relevant to managing development in the national parks is provided herein. Although not exhaustive, this glossary highlights some of the key terms and evolving concepts that are important to understanding National Park Service management policies and principles. Further definitions may be obtained from Director's Orders and Reference Manuals that are either published or will soon be available.
