The National Park Service (NPS) invites you to collaborate on development of a Community Access Plan for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The park wants your help identifying issues that impact you, your community, and how you experience the park - such as congested areas, ease of flow, and equitable access. The plan will identify solutions that will enhance visitor experiences and protect the park’s natural and cultural environment. Your input will help us understand your needs, the types of experiences you like, and what experiences you would like to see in the future.
Watch for opportunities to get updates on the process, provide further input and discuss community access and experiences during this multi-year planning process.
Contact the park any time during the process at cuva_superintendent@nps.gov or 440-343-7352.
Key issues and opportunities addressed the plan include:
Improving equitable and inclusive access and experiences that serve a diverse community and visitors
Wayfinding, circulation, and visitor information challenges
Visitor use that is concentrated in key locations, which causes congestion and, in some cases, user conflict
Impacts to cultural resources
Impacts to natural resources
Providing diverse recreation opportunities, like camping
Bolstering relationships with partners and communities
Evaluating commercial services and opportunities available through the park’s lands and leasing program and through permit systems
