School Yard Field TripsTeachers, do you ever wonder about using your school grounds as an extension of the classroom? Do you want to try something new but need some support? We're here to help you:
When teachers use nature as a tool for their classroom, their students engage more. They ask more questions, share more observations, and feel emotionally invested in learning. Plus, it strengthens their connection with the outdoors, building better stewards for the environment. Teacher WorkshopsThroughout the year, the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center offers unique learning opportunities for teachers and adults, including teacher workshops. Check back soon for upcoming opportunities. Teacher-Ranger-TeacherThe Teacher-Ranger-Teacher (TRT) program is an extended professional development opportunity for educators from K-12 schools to learn about the resources and educational materials available through the NPS. Participating teachers will have the opportunity to engage in parks and park resources, participate in a webinar about lesson planning, develop at least one lesson to be used in their classroom or school, assist the park with an education project, and increase their understanding of place-based learning. |
