Teacher WorkshopsThroughout the year, the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center offers unique learning opportunities for teachers and adults, including teacher workshops. Dragonfly Mercury ProjectTeachers are invited to join us on Tuesday, June 20, from 9 am to noon to participate in the Dragonfly Mercury Project (DMP). The DMP is a nationwide study that works with citizen scientists to collect dragonfly larvae for mercury analysis. We will follow DMP protocols to collect samples and identify dragonfly larvae. Teachers will be introduced to educator materials and learn how to integrate them into the classroom. Teacher-Ranger-TeacherThe Teacher-Ranger-Teacher (TRT) program is an extended professional development opportunity for educators from K-12 schools to learn about the resources and educational materials available through the NPS. Participating teachers will have the opportunity to engage in parks and park resources, participate in a webinar about lesson planning, develop at least one lesson to be used in their classroom or school, assist the park with an education project, and increase their understanding of place-based learning. |
