CRATER LAKE, OR - The National Park Service (NPS) is accepting proposals for a concession contract to operate guided vehicle tours within Crater Lake National Park.
The announcement released today outlines an opportunity for a business to provide daily guided land tours along the 33-mile Rim Road around Crater Lake on a seasonal basis. The contract will have a 10-year term and is expected to begin May 1, 2025.
All interested parties are encouraged to apply and submit a proposal. The announcement can be found online at www.nps.gov/subjects/concessions/prospectuses.htm and is advertised at SAM.gov where details and instructions on how to submit a proposal can be found.
Concession contracts are developed and issued under the authority of the Concessions Management Improvement Act of 1998, P.L. 105-391, and its attending regulations in 36 CFR 51. Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Part 51, the NPS Director has determined the existing concessioner, The Shuttle Inc., dba Crater Lake Trolley, has Preferred Offeror status for the new contract. That preferential right allows the Preferred Offeror, if it submits a responsive proposal and is not selected as the best proposal for the Draft Contract, to match the terms and conditions of the best proposal.
To submit a proposal in response to this solicitation, please notify Kimberley Gagliolo via email at e-mail us no later than 12 p.m. (PDT) on September 18, 2024. All questions related to this business opportunity should be received by 12 p.m. (PDT) on July 29, 2024.
Currently, Crater Lake National Park has two concessioners and approximately 30 commercial use authorization holders that provide a variety of visitor services in the park.
