Visitors, fans, and supporters of any one of the three units of national parks that comprise the Outer Banks Group can help the parks win a $100,000 grant by voting online for “America’s Favorite Park.” Vote at before August 31. There is no limit on the number of times you can vote. The contest is part of a partnership between the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, and Coca-Cola.  In addition to the grant, Coke is matching donations made to the National Park Foundation at, up to $25,000. 

This is a great opportunity for park visitors, the local community, and park partners to express their appreciation by voting for their local national park units. With your help, an additional $100,000 could be invested in making sure that every visitor has a great experience to the Outer Banks Group of parks.

The Outer Banks Group, comprised of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Wright Brothers National Memorial, and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, are three of the 392 national parks across the country. Cape Hatteras National Seashore, a ribbon of sand, stretching for 68 miles on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, is a haven for active recreation and quiet reflection as well as home to a rich variety of plant and animal life. Wright Brothers National Memorial is the site where powered flight first began in 1903. Fort Raleigh National Historic Site commemorates the first English attempt at colonization of the New World in 1584.
