Volunteers Needed for Biscayne National Park Shoreline Clean-ups

HOMESTEAD, Fla. --- Biscayne National Park is recruiting volunteer teams for shoreline clean-ups of marine debris. Removing the debris helps to restore park beaches and sea turtle populations, and keep the park beautiful.

Clean-up events are held on weekdays February through March. Volunteers must be 16 or older and be willing to get wet and dirty. Teams must have a minimum of four people and maximum of ten. To reserve a clean-up date please contact the park at e-mail us.

The clean-ups are wonderful opportunities for team-building and learning about the park and its resources. The park depends upon volunteers to remove the debris. Financial support is provided by the South Florida National Parks Trust and the National Park Service. Park personnel and the Coastal Cleanup Corporation provide logistical and field support.
