Half of the park... is after dark! Join us as we begin our 5th season of Park After Dark programming. This year's season consists of four evening programs that gives everybody the chance to enjoy the park after the sun goes down.

December 21, 2019 - The Winter Solstice brings us the shortest day of the year! Hop on a guided boat excursion out into Biscayne Bay to see the beauty of the evening hours from the water. Each trip lasts for an hour and trips are scheduled to depart at: 5pm, 6:15pm, 7:30pm. Ticket prices are $15. Reservations are recommended and can be made at biscaynenationalparkinstitute.org. (Sunset is at 5:36pm.)

January 25, 2020 - By February, 80% of new year resolutions have been abandoned. Ranger Maria invites you to reflect on your New Year's resolution by the campfire. She will share stories from across the NPS for inspiration on how to turn your new year's resolution into action for an intentional year. Free program begins at 7pm on the front lawn of the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. (Sunset is at 6:01pm.)

February 29, 2020 - How about a Story Slam on Leap Day? We invite you to join us for what is sure to be a great evening of true, personal stories told live! This year's theme will be 'LEAPing Into Nature'. If you have a story to tell about a time you took a leap into nature, please email Gary Bremen at gary_bremen@nps.gov. This free program begins at 7pm on the front lawn of the Dante Fascell Vistior Center. (Sunset is at 6:23pm.)

March 28, 2020 - Have you ever heard the music of Florida's resident in song, Grant Livingston? If you haven't, we have your chance. If you have heard it, you'll surely want to hear it again. Grant's combination of wit, care, and passion drive his incredible music. This free program begins at 7pm on the front lawn of the Dante Fascell Vistior Center. (Sunset is at 7:37pm.)

For each scheduled event, the Convoy Point Grounds and the Dante Fascell Vistior Center will remain open until 9pm. Additionally, there will be a campfire, s'mores, and telescopes (provided by Homestead Astronomy) at each event. All events are family friendly so pack a picnic dinner and come on down. Seating, though not space, can be limited for the January, February, and March events. Be sure to bring a picnic blanket or a comfortable lawn chair if you plan to join us.

Program support provided by the South Florida National Parks Trust. For more information on any event, please contact the Dante Fascell Visitor Center at (786) 335-3620.
