South End - Lovell, Wyoming One Hour: Take a scenic drive up Hwy. 37 to Devil Canyon Overlook. At the overlook you are 1000 feet off the water with a magnificant view of Bighron Canyon. You may also see bighorn sheep and a variety of birds. Two Hours: Drive to the end of the pavement at Barry's Landing. A short hike along the Stateline trail or Sullivan's Knob would give you a good break from the car. There may even be time for a little fishing from the fishing dock or the shore at Horseshoe Bend. Half-day: With a little more time, take one of the longer hikes or visit the four historic ranches to learn about what it was like to live and work in the shadow of Bighorn Canyon. In the summer, offer great boat rides on the lake. One or more days: You may be interested in taking a drive into the Pryor Mountains or a canoe trip on the lake. |
