BOTH DISTRICTS:

AIS Dogs

Through funding received in 2018 from WASO, IMR has contracted with the Working Dogs for Conservation Foundation to bring mussel-sniffing dogs to the western parks that maintain AIS programs. Bighorn Canyon NRA is one of the parks chosen to host these dogs, and they will be in the park from July 1 through July 13.

The dogs and their handler, Aimee Hurt, will be giving a presentation at the Lovell Visitor Center on July 3 from 5-6PM. Hurt will go in depth about how the dogs do their jobs, what invasives they search out and what other agencies they work with. The dogs will be at the presentation to meet and greet the public.
