Eclipse Explorer Junior Ranger Program

The Eclipse Explorer Junior Ranger program helps kids and families experience the 2023 and 2024 solar eclipses.

Explore Eclipse Science Safely!

The Eclipse Explorer Junior Ranger program is a partnership between the National Park Service and The Planetary Society. Full of interactive activities, the activity booklet helps kids and the young at heart connect with the science and stories of this awesome astronomical event and understand how to view the eclipse safely.

The Eclipse Junior Ranger program will be offered at participating National Park Service sites in the path of the April 8, 2024 eclipse. Note that some sites will be working with community partners to do off site programming.

Program Logistics

Eclipse Explorer Junior Ranger badges and solar viewers are offered at participating sites only. National Park Service sites do not have capacity to mail Eclipse Junior Ranger booklets or badges.
