Names of deceased released after single-vehicle accident at Acadia National Park

BAR HARBOR, ME — Three people died in a single-vehicle accident that occurred around 2:30 am on Saturday, August 31, 2019, on the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park. The driver, Praneeth Manubolu, 28, of Edgewater, New Jersey, sustained non-life threatening injuries. The three passengers who died in the accident were Lenny Fuchs, 36, Laura Leong, 30, and Zeeshan Mohammed, 27, all of New York City. 

Just before 3 am, the Bar Harbor Police Department received a 911 call from the driver reporting a single-vehicle accident on the one-way section of the Park Loop Road near the Gorge Path trailhead. The Bar Harbor police and fire departments were the first personnel to respond and found three occupants dead at the scene. The driver was transported to Mount Desert Island Hospital for treatment. Following his release, he was arrested on a criminal complaint and transported to the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth, Maine.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office was on scene to assist the National Park Service with accident reconstruction and investigation.
