BAR HARBOR, MAINE - The Duck Brook Motor Bridge driving lanes will be temporarily reduced to one lane of travel on Tuesday August 24, from 9 am to 5 pm. This will allow contractors access to the bridge’s interior before submitting bids for an upcoming construction project.
The Duck Brook Motor Road Bridge is a triple arch bridge spanning the deep Duck Brook ravine. The bridge, constructed in 1950-53, is hollow and faced with rough cut granite. The bridge is the last major bridge constructed in the park as part of the historic motor road. It is considered eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing feature to the nationally significant Historic Motor Road System.
