BAR HARBOR, MAINE –Twenty-four candidates became United States Citizens on Wednesday September 11 on the Jordan Pond Lawn at Acadia National Park. This is one of many citizenship ceremonies taking place in national parks under a partnership between the National Park Service and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

 “We are honored to host this citizenship ceremony in Acadia National Park,” said Superintendent Kevin Schneider. “I hope every one of these new United States citizens return here year after year with their friends and families to enjoy this amazing place.”
 
Citizenship ceremonies began in Acadia National Park in 2015. Hosting these important events in national parks signifies the connection between citizens and their national parks.
