All-Terrain Wheelchair

A park ranger holds the handlebars of an adaptive mobility wheelchair.
There are many trails in Zion to explore with an all-terrain wheelchair, like Weeping Rock!

The all-terrain wheelchair is available at the Zion Cayon Visitor Center to enable visitors with mobility challenges and disabilities to enjoy more of the park's trails.

The all-terrain wheelchair requires an assistant to push the chair — it is not able to be powered by the user. The chair is available on a first-come, first-served basis and does not take reservations.

Checking Out the Chair

Come to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center information desk to see if the chair is available. If it is available, a ranger can begin the checkout process.

Both the user and assistant must fill out a waiver prior to use. Either the chair user or the assistant must present an ID and proof of insurance. The ranger will then go through a brief training on how to use the chair. After reviewing the chair features checklist with both the user and the assistant, the wheelchair can be taken to any of the approved trails below.

Rental Period

The all-terrain wheelchair is available for single-day rentals only and must be returned before the visitor center closes (on the same day as checkout). For visitor center operating hours, check our Operating Hours and Seasons page. Please note that we cannot store personal wheelchairs during the rental.

Getting up the Canyon

Because the all-terrain wheelchair is too long to fit on the Zion Canyon Shuttle, the assisting ranger will also provide you with an accessibility pass for the canyon. This will allow you to drive and park on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive (in designated spaces) during the shuttle season.
