From November to April, permits are available at the Valley Visitor Center (open 9 am to 5 pm). The Valley Wilderness Center is located between the Ansel Adams Gallery and the Post Office in Yosemite Village, near the Valley Visitor Center. Park at Yosemite Village Day Use Parking. From day use parking, it's about a five-minute walk (follow the green signs). Or, take the free shuttle bus to the Valley Visitor Center. ![]() Tuolumne Meadows Wilderness CenterSeason: Approximately late May to October 14 (conditions permitting). From mid-October to May, you can self-register here for wilderness permits, though Tioga Road is closed in winter. The Tuolumne Meadows Wilderness Center is located just off the Tioga Road in Tuolumne Meadows. It is about one mile east of the visitor center. From the Tioga Road, follow signs for Tuolumne Meadows Lodge, Dog Lake, and Wilderness Permits. Parking is available at the wilderness center. ![]() Big Oak Flat Information StationSeason: May to October. When closed for the season, self-registration permits are available on the porch. After passing through the entrance station, pull into the large parking area on your right. The information station is just to the left of the bathrooms. ![]() Wawona Visitor Center at Hill's StudioSeason: May to October. When closed for the season, self-registration permits are available on the porch. The Wawona Visitor Center is within historic Hill's Studio, on the grounds of the Wawona Hotel. Park at the Wawona Hotel. ![]() Hetch Hetchy Entrance StationSeason: All year Hours (subject to change): Permits are issued at the entrance station. The entrance station only issues permits until 5 pm, even if the road is open later. There is no access to Hetch Hetchy trailheads when road is closed. Badger Pass Ranger StationOpen: Approximately late December through March. Self-registration on porch when open. Permits are issued at the ranger station or A-frame. The ranger station is 200 feet to the right of the main ski lodge. Though not always staffed, rangers are often available for questions and advice. |
