Half Dome Cables To Be Taken Down in Yosemite National Park

News Release Date: October 8, 2010

The Half Dome Cables will be taken down for the season on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. The cables are taken down each October for the fall and winter season. The cables will be put back up in the spring of 2011 as conditions permit.

Visitors are strongly advised against attempting to summit Half Dome without the cables in place as the dome can be extremely slippery and may be wet and/or icy even in seemingly dry conditions.
