News Release Date: September 30, 2026

Current Situation

Status

  • The fire has grown 242 acres since yesterday morning and is now 39% contained. Containment is increasing and is outpacing the fire growth.
  • Weather conditions allowed firefighters to strategically use firing operations to tie the fire perimeter to containment lines.
  • Containment lines around the fire continue to be reinforced.
  • The weather is expected to continue to get warmer and drier through the end of the week, but calm winds will allow firefighters to continue to make containment progress.
  • In support of incident operations, mules and helicopters have assisted with backhauling fire hose and equipment.
  • New fire crews continue to arrive to replace crews that have met their maximum deployment time.
  • No roads, buildings or utilities are under immediate threat.

Weather

Cool temperatures and higher humidity continue to help crews strengthen containment lines. Expect strong south to southwest winds with gusts reaching 25 mph through the weekend.
