McCarthy Road and Kennecott Area

Containing the McCarthy Road and the towns of McCarthy and Kennecott, this area is where history comes alive. The McCarthy road follows a portion of the route of the previous Copper River & Northwestern (CR&NW) Railway, starting in the town of Chitina and ending a 1/2 mile before McCarthy. Five miles from where the McCarthy road ends is the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark and the Kennecott Visitor Center. Follow the below links to discover this area:
