White Sands to Host Native American Flautist for September Full Moon Night Concert

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. – White Sands National Park will host its September Full Moon Night event Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

For the park’s September Full Moon Night, White Sands National Park, in partnership with Western National Parks, presents a musical performance by Randy Granger. An award-winning musician and storyteller of Mayan and Apache heritage, Granger will perform with the Native American flute and other acoustic instruments.

Join Granger for a relaxing fall evening, Saturday, Sept. 26, in the park’s natural outdoor amphitheater. The event parking lot will open at 5 p.m. The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately an hour and a half. Granger will fill the moonlit night with his unique blend of instruments, interpretation of traditional melodies and heartfelt music. The park will have extended hours until 9 p.m. that evening.

The program is free, but park entrance fees will apply. The park expects many attendees for this Full Moon Night event, so please plan accordingly:

• Event parking is limited and will fill up quickly.
• Limited accessible parking will be available.
• Seating is not provided at the amphitheater. Attendees may set up on the surrounding dunes and bring camp chairs, blankets and coolers with food and drinks.
• Visit the park website or NPS App for directions to the event location, additional accessibility information and safety messaging.

This is the second of three Full Moon Night events White Sands is hosting this year featuring the cultural legacy of southern New Mexico and the rich natural resources of White Sands. These events are a great opportunity to have a unique experience with the whole family under the light of the full moon.
