ALAMOGORDO – White Sands National Park will hold its first Full Moon Night event of the year on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 8:15 pm.

In partnership with Western National Parks Association, we are pleased to have the Mariachi Aguilas de Las Cruces perform at the park’s June Full Moon Night event. Mariachi Aguilas is an award-winning band based out of Las Cruces, New Mexico that performs authentic mariachi music.

Join us for a relaxing summer evening on Friday, June 21, at 8:15 p.m. in the park’s natural outdoor amphitheater. The parking lot will open at 7:15 pm. The program is free, but park entrance fees will apply. Seating is not provided at the amphitheater. You are encouraged to set up on the surrounding dunes and bring camp chairs, blankets, and coolers with food and drinks.

Mariachi Aguilas de Las Cruces was established in March of 2000 and has played a vital role of keeping the enriching tradition of authentic mariachi music alive in Southern New Mexico. They have won several competitions and awards in the states of New Mexico and Texas, including being voted #1 Best Mariachi Band in the 2023 Las Cruces Bulletin's Best of the Mesilla Valley. Mariachi Aguilas continues to represent the beautiful culture and heritage of mariachi music in each performance and looks forward to continuing the legacy for many years to come.

This is the first of several Full Moon Night events White Sands is planning this summer which will feature the cultural legacy of Southern New Mexico and the rich natural resources of White Sands. These events are a great opportunity to have a unique experience with the whole family under the light of the full moon.
