White Sands is the perfect outdoor classroom to teach a variety of subjects including math, science, and the arts! We know field trips can be hard to plan as there are a lot of moving parts. Look below for information on how to best plan a field trip to the monument.

Whether you plan to arrange a ranger program or want to create a self-guided experience, you will find many of the following tips helpful in order to experience White Sands as the ultimate outdoor classroom.

Self-Guided Field Trip

There are many options to provide a fun and education visit to White Sands for your students that you can customize to your interests and needs.

Look through our Things To Do pages for information on what your class can do in the monument from regularly scheduled ranger programs to hiking one of our educational trails.

Ranger Guided Programs for Youth

Ranger guided programs offer the chance for your group to learn something specific about the monument. Whether you’re studying geology, plants, animals, or history our rangers can construct a program to fit your needs.
