Voyageurs National Park Camping and Houseboat Reservations for the 2025 Summer Season Open on November 15

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. – Overnight tent camping reservations and houseboat permits for the 2025 summer season at Voyageurs National Park will open on November 15, 2024, at 9 am CST. At that time, reservation will then be available for dates after May 8, 2025, and can be made online at www.recreation.gov or by calling the National Call Center at [phone].

Two notable changes will be implemented during the 2025 season. First, is the establishment of a shorter, one week booking window for ten campsites throughout the park to accommodate short-term trip planners. These sites will become available for reservations on a rolling basis, seven days in advance:
 

• Rainy Lake (west end): Mio Beach R64 and Nuthatch R21
• Rainy Lake (east end): Jack Pine Bench R55 and Hitchcock R105
• Kabetogama Lake: Fox Farm K50 and Round Bear K29
• Namakan Lake: Johnson Bay N13 and Hammer Bay South N59
• Sand Point Lake: South Island S17 and Feldt Channel S5

The second change is that the use of canoes stationed at all backcountry lakes along the Cruiser Lake trail network will now automatically come with overnight backcountry camping reservations. This change ensures access to all related campsite amenities and supports visitor expectations for seclusion in these remote areas.

All revenue from overnight fees remains at Voyageurs National Park, supporting the visitor experience by funding site cleaning, maintenance, and enhancements to amenities such as tent pads, docks, bear-proof food lockers, privies, picnic tables, fire rings, mooring aids, trails, backcountry infrastructure, and interpretive media at visitor destination sites.
