Research

Wanting to learn more about specific aspects of the siege of Vicksburg? There are many tools out there that can help someone find more scholarly information about Civil War soldiers and their stories. Vicksburg National Military Park has a small research library that is available for use by advance appointment only. Please contact the park at least 3 weeks in advance of your planned visit to arrange use of the library.

Many resources have been digitized, including the parole records for General Pemberton's Army. The best resources for locating information about soldiers and sailors who served in the campaign for Vicksburg can be found using the following resources.
