The National Park Service invites the public to the 2nd Annual Thunder on the River Living
History Day. History comes to life during special programs held throughout the day on November 11, 2017 from 10:00am until 3:00pm. This event provides education and entertainment for all ages and is free and open to the public.

Visitors will experience what life was like during the American Civil War in military camps and on the home front by participating in a variety of interactive activities such as sewing and playing historic games. Civil War civilian reenactors will prepare food over an open fire, and park rangers dressed as members of the Union Navy will perform weapons demonstrations.

Cannon firings will take place on the hour beginning at 10 am, with the last firing at 2 pm. Musket demonstrations will occur on the half-hour beginning at 10:30 am, with the last firing occurring at 2:30 pm.

Located off of I-295 in the Arlington area on the St. John’s River, Fort Caroline is open daily, at no charge, between 9:00am and 5:00 pm.
