The National Park Service is working service-wide with federal, state, and local public health authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local public health authorities, access to the park is as follows:

Open: Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation Visitor Centers

  • Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation visitor centers are open Wednesday - Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Public restrooms are open.

While the listed areas are accessible for visitors to enjoy, some services may be limited.

The NPS has updated its masking guidance based on the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels tool, which helps communities decide what prevention steps to take. In areas CDC identifies as high COVID-19 community level, masks are required for everyone in all NPS buildings, regardless of vaccination status. In most low and medium COVID-19 community level areas, masks are optional, and you are welcome to wear a mask if it makes you more comfortable.

The Jacksonville area is currently: LOW

Please recreate responsibly by following CDC guidance, avoiding high risk activities and staying home if you feel sick.

We will continue to monitor all park functions to ensure that visitors adhere to CDC guidance for mitigating risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19 and take any additional steps necessary to protect public health.
