Parking Lot Locomotive Tour

Grand Trunk Western Railway, built in the 1920s, has a large 'beetle' brow and cylindrical tender.
Grand Trunk Western Railway 6039 was built in the mid-1920s for both passenger and freight service ('dual service').  It is one of the locomotives you can learn about on this program.

Join a Park Ranger or a Volunteer for a closer look at five display locomotives in the Visitor parking area: Grand Trunk Western #6039, Reading #2124, Rahway Valley #15, Bullard #2 and the Union Pacific #4012 "Big Boy" (no cab tours). While not a 'technical' tour, you'll learn a bit more of the 'how and why' railroads ordered the locomotives they did!

Departs from the Visitor Center. Included in the Park Entrance Fee.
