Getting Around

The Battlefield has a self-guiding 10-mile paved Tour Road.
Road closes to vehicle traffic Dec. 1 and remains closed until Apr. 1 or later, weather permitting.

Bicycling is a fantastic way to explore the Battlefield portion of Saratoga National Historical Park in the spring, summer, and autumn! There are no bike rentals at the park, so visitors need to bring their own bicycles.

For your convenience, there are two bike fix-it stations located within the park. One is located in the visitor center parking lot near the entrance, the second is located in the parking lot at Tour Road Stop #7.

Helmets are required for all cyclists.

Hiking is also a great way of exploring the Battlefield throughout the year.

In winter, weather permitting, the hiking trails become a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination.

Horseback Riding

While there are no horse rentals at the park, visitors with their own horses may bring them to Saratoga Battlefield and make use of our 5+mile (round trip) horse trail.

Public Transportation

While there are no public transportation forms that regularly service Saratoga National Historical Park, rideshare apps are now available in New York State.

Amtrak has a station in Saratoga Springs, NY, approximately 15 miles west of the park.

Albany International Airport is located in Albany, NY, approximately 30 miles south of the park.
