To celebrate climate week, learn how redwood trees are impacted by climate change. A Redwood National Park ranger and two California State Park guides chat about carbon and climate resilience of redwoods.
A musical montage performed by the North Coast Chorale and North Coast Youth Choir of Crescent City, California for the 50th anniversary celebration (2018) of Redwood National Park. The video includes a photo and audio montage of different US national park sites, and a 50-second narration for audio description precedes the music.
Enjoy our first (and possibly last) ranger rap video. This is to help educate the public about marbled murrelets and the reason why we need to keep the redwood parks "crumb clean".
Rare Footage. This was filmed one morning when the National Weather Service had issued a sneaker wave warning for our coast. This sneaker wave was filmed on Freshwater beach in front of the Kuchel Visitor Center. The ranger was filming for 60-minutes prior to this wave. Ten minutes before this event occurred, the ranger filming had to warn visitors not to sit on the large log that was then filmed being hit by the wave.
[The is no audio except the sound of surf and waves]
