Petrified Forest Celebrates National Park Week—April 19-26, 2008 Petrified Forest —Join Petrified Forest National Park in celebrating your national parks! “Kids in Parks” is the best way to teach younger generations to enjoy their national natural heritage; but everyone is an honorary ‘kid’ during National Park Week. So come and play, discover and have fun! You can add your thoughts about your favorite parks to our “Log Blog” at the Painted Desert Visitor Center. See and share artwork related to national parks at the Painted Desert Inn Museum. Participate in hands-on activities as you visit the park; and go on a behind-the-scenes tour to see the many jobs done by the National Park Service. For more information call (928) 524-6228 weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time; or write to the Superintendent, Petrified Forest National Park, P.O. Box 2217, Petrified Forest, AZ 86028; or e-mail the park. |
