Petrified Forest has been a destination for over a century. Many visitors have come for multiple generations. One of the generational journeys includes that of the Bunting family.

Scott Bunting of Colorado is gearing up to ride his Honda across the country. Bunting will emulate an epic journey made by his grandfather—also Scott Bunting—a century ago. In stage 4 cancer, the current Bunting will stop at nearly a hundred points to rephotograph images left behind by his grandfather that documented his trip of over eight thousand miles. One such stop is at Long Logs in Petrified Forest National Park. Bunting plans to reshoot the same spot and petrified log in the original photograph, reenacting his grandfather's
visit to Petrified Forest.

Scott Bunting will be a guest of the park in one of the historic buildings. For more information on this epic reprisal, contact Kip Woodford at 928-524-6228 x273 or kip_woolford@nps.gov.
