PetrifiedForest, AZ—Join Petrified Forest National Park's Artist-in-ResidentNight Sky Photographer Melany Sarafis from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on July 18th, 2015 at the La Posada Hotel.
Melany will share her photographs of the night sky. Melany loves being outdoors, and is inspired by nature and history. It didn't take her long to discover night photography and gain an insatiable desire to masterastrolandscape (night sky) photography. It's these histories (and mysteries)—as well as the natural patterns and predictable rhythms of the landscape and stars—that drive her. She will recount her experiences of "chasing light" under the stars as she searches for that "perfect" shot, and explain how she finds constellations, planets and satellites as she focuses her camera far into space.
