Ajo, AZ – Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (Organ Pipe Cactus NM) has instituted a temporary road closure on the west border road (Roosevelt Reservation) from Monument Hill to Quitobaquito Springs, which includes all crossover routes from South Puerto Blanco Drive. Visitors should exercise caution on South Puerto Blanco Road due to presence of construction traffic.

The closure went into effect October 9, 2019 for vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and will remain in effect until further notice. South Puerto Blanco Road to Quitobaquito Springs will remain open. The temporary closure is in response to public safety concerns associated with border infrastructure construction activities.

Visitor education materials and media releases will be made available throughout the closure period. The effectiveness of this closure will be assessed on an on-going basis. Notice will be provided of any additional closures or lifting of this closure.
