These closures will allow for road repairs to the section of Bates Well Road between the Bates Well Ranch and the boundary of the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge. The closure applies to all foot, bicycle and motor vehicle traffic and will remain in effect until further notice. The closures are in response to public safety concerns associated with heavy machinery and construction traffic. https://www.nps.gov/orpi/learn/news/bates-well-pozo-nuevo-and-ajo-mountain-drive-closures.htm</description>
