Cave Tours at Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve

Entrance to Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve is free, but cave access is available by guided tour only. There are several types of cave tours available, each offering a unique experience of this incredible natural wonder.


Discovery Cave Tours

Tour Prices:

  • $10.00 Adults (ages 16 and over)
  • $7.00 Youth (ages 15 and under; must be 42 inches tall)
  • $5.00 Interagency Senior Pass Holders (ages 62 and over)
  • $5.00 Interagency Access Pass Holders (ages 16 and over)

Tours are offered 7 days per week through September 30th. Starting October 1st, the park will operate Thursday through Monday, with the last tour of the season on November 3, 2024.

  • First tour: 10:00 AM
  • Last tour: 4:00 PM
  • Tour duration: Moderately strenuous

Please Note:

Some tours are reservable at Recreation.gov, but same-day tickets are also available, first come, first served. It's highly recommended to stop at the Illinois Valley Visitor Center in Cave Junction first, before heading to the cave. It is a 60-minute drive and walk to the cave itself from Cave Junction. Availability can change quickly, and tickets may sell out. Assure your place.

For Large Groups:

Discovery Cave tours are limited to 12 people per tour. For larger groups, please call ahead at 541-592-2100 x2262 so we can try to arrange back-to-back tours.

 

Candlelight Cave Tour

Tour Prices:

  • $10.00 Adults (ages 16 and over)
  • $7.00 Youth (ages 10 to 15)
  • $5.00 Interagency Senior Pass Holders (ages 62 and over)
  • $5.00 Interagency Access Pass Holders (ages 16 and over)

This unique 60-minute tour is offered during the summer months. The tour is moderately strenuous, and children must be 10 years or older to participate.

Kids and Family Tour

Tour Prices:

  • $10.00 Adults (ages 16 and over)
  • $7.00 Youth (ages 15 and under; must be 42 inches tall)
  • $5.00 Interagency Senior Pass Holders (ages 62 and over)
  • $5.00 Interagency Access Pass Holders (ages 16 and over)

This is for kids. It is 90-minutes long, moderately strenuous and focused on the kids in the family. It is offered mid-June through Labor Day weekend. At least one child must be in the party. Children must be over 42 inches tall to participate.

Off-Trail Caving Tour

Tour Price:

  • $45.00 (Ages 15 and over)

This 3-hour tour offers a more challenging and strenuous experience. Guided by cavers, it takes you off the standard tour path for a deeper exploration of the cave. The tour is designed for adventure seekers looking to explore the back passages of the Oregon Caves.

Education Groups at Oregon Caves National Monument

Accredited school groups visiting for educational purposes may qualify for a fee waiver. This waiver supports groups learning about the monument and preserve to extend their curriculum and meet educational standards. Interagency Pass Information

  • The Interagency Annual Pass and Interagency Annual Pass for Active Duty U.S. Military apply only to park entrance fees and do not cover cave tour fees (note: there is no entrance fee to the park itself).

  • Interagency Access and Senior Passes offer a 50% discount on all applicable tours for the cardholder only. Passes and cardholder IDs are required at check-in, including for reserved tours.
