 Cassie Branstetter selected as superintendent of Nicodemus National Historic Site OMAHA, Neb. Today National Park Service (NPS) Regional Director Bert Frost announced the selection of Cassie Branstetter as the new superintendent of Nicodemus National Historic Site in Kansas. Branstetter currently leads the Interpretation Division at Buffalo National River in Harrison, Arkansas. She will assume her new role at Nicodemus in July.“I am excited to announce Cassie as the new superintendent of Nicodemus National Historic Site,” said Frost. “Her background in partnerships and public affairs will provide a fresh perspective for a growing park with a highly engaged community of stakeholders. Her collaborative nature will be an asset to these relationships.”Branstetter has 13 years of federal service with the NPS. She began her career as an interpretive ranger at the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri and continued that work at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve and Kings Canyon National Park, and Denali National Park. She has extensive experience as a park guide at Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Oklahoma City National Memorial. She volunteered at Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida and continued her work in interpretation at El Malpais National Monument before joining the staff at Buffalo National River as the Branch Chief of Interpretation, where she also served as the Public Information Officer, Volunteer Coordinator, and Park Partner Liaison.“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the Nicodemus community and descendants, to work with them and other partners to continue preserving this historic township and its impact on the American story,” Branstetter said. “I look forward to supporting the park’s excellent staff and becoming immersed in this important history.”Branstetter will be relocating to the area in July and is looking forward to getting involved in the local community.
