Current Weather Conditions at the Park

Be prepared as you travel across the Navajo Nation. We encourage travelers to check weather conditions before heading outdoors. During the winter, the park roads may have snow and ice which makes it hazardous for travel. For spring, expect winds that kick up dust that may impact visibility. In the summer, heat waves may bring temperatures above 95 degrees. Hiking in the heat during the hours from 10AM to 4PM is not recommended. Watch for fire restrictions if camping. Late summer and early fall can bring monsoon rains and flash flooding.

Please visit the National Weather Service site for current conditions at Navajo National Monument.
