Natchez Trace Parkway to implement temporary closures due to winter weather advisory

TUPELO –A winter weather advisory has been issued for Natchez Trace Parkway from Tupelo, MS to Nashville, TN beginning Thursday. Mid-morning on Thursday, the Parkway will close from Collinwood, TN (Milepost 355) to Highway 64, (Milepost 370) and from Highway 46 /Pinewood Rd. (Milepost 429) to the northern terminus in Nashville.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility. Travelers should exercise caution when driving and avoid the Parkway. Current weather information is available through your local radio and television stations.

Other areas of Natchez Trace Parkway may experience closures due to hazardous conditions. In the event of an emergency on the Natchez Trace Parkway, please call the Parkway Communications Center at (800) 300-PARK (7275) or 911.

The Parkway Visitor Center near Tupelo, MS, is open 9am-4:30pm seven days a week. The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, December 25th and January 1st.
