HINDS COUNTY, MS – On September 20, 2017, at approximately 6:03 pm, the Natchez Trace Parkway Communications Center received notification of a single motor vehicle collision near Raymond, Mississippi (milepost 77.9). U.S. Park Rangers and Hinds County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene.

The vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, was operated by Regina Carr, age 20, of Clinton, Mississippi, and a student at Alcorn State University.   Preliminary information indicates that Carr was traveling northbound on the Parkway when the vehicle left the roadway, spun around and struck a tree.
