TUPELO, Miss.—Sections of the Chisha Foka Multi-Use Trail in Ridgeland, Mississippi will be closed to the public as National Park Service crews remove, trim and mow vegetation along the trail. The work will be completed in sections and the temporary closures will move as work progresses.
“We are using large equipment to remove trees, clear out culverts, and cut back overgrowth to improve drainage,” said Chief of Maintenance Greg Smith, “The work will also open up the trail to scenic views for pedestrians and bicyclists.”
The closure is necessary for the safety of visitors and workers. Barricades are in place and signs are posted to indicate the closed area. Individuals found in the closed area may be subject to citation.
