John Coffee Memorial Bridge reopens to travelers

Section of Parkway has reopened. Motorists should watch for construction crews and one lane closures.

TUPELO, Miss.—The National Park Service has reopened the section of Natchez Trace Parkway from Milepost 326 to Milepost 336, including John Coffee Memorial Bridge. Final audible stripe placement and shoulder grading is still underway in this section of parkway. Travelers should be aware of mobile construction zones and potential single lane closures. 

A full closure from Mississippi Highway 25 (Tishomingo County) to North Pike Road (Colbert County, Alabama) and signed detour around the closure will remain in-place until the work is completed. Individual sections of the Parkway will reopen as the contractor completes work within each section.    

This is part of an ongoing project that includes the rehabilitation of the main line motor-road, mill & overlay of ramps and pull-off areas, traffic safety improvements, drainage repairs, and accessibility improvements from Milepost 291 -331.
