The Natchez Trace Parkway, Colbert Ferry boat ramp area at milepost 327.3 and the Tennessee River in Alabama will be temporarily closed beginning April 8, 2015. The closure is due to emergency operations being conducted from the boat ramp area. The contact station restrooms and access to the Colbert Ferry overlook will remain open to the public. Access to Colbert Ferry boat ramp for boating and recreational purposes will be prohibited until emergency operations have ceased. The closure is necessary to ensure safety while emergency operations are in effect. This closure is temporary but will be in effect daily from8:00 AM through 8:00 PM. The Parkway is working in cooperation with Colbert County Emergency Management Agency, Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency, and the Federal Aviation Administration during this incident. The Parkway will work to reopen services to the boat ramp areas as soon as possible. The bicycle campground at Colbert Ferry is temporarily closed, and cyclists may call 1-800-300-7275 or 662-680-4027 to be directed to a place to camp overnight.
