2023SPRINGFIELD, IL: During the summer of 2023, Lincoln Home National Historic Site will partner with the City of Springfield to present free, public "History Comes Alive" programs in the Lincoln Home neighborhood. "History Comes Alive" programs at Lincoln Home National Historic Site begin on June 2 and will run seven days a week, ending on August 6. Programs offered daily by Lincoln Home National Historic Site will include guided walking tours of Lincoln's 8th Street with NPS rangers and opportunities to try out historic toys and games.In addition to daily programs, visitors to Lincoln Home National Historic Site can also catch weekly programs, performances, and events in the Lincoln Home neighborhood. These programs include Reading with a Park Ranger, "History Cooks! Food of Lincoln's Springfield" cooking demonstrations, performances by the Lincoln Troubadours acapella group, and visits from Abraham and Mary Lincoln actors. All Lincoln Home National Historic Site "History Comes Alive" programs are free and open to the public.
