America's Best Idea Film Festival at Lassen Volcanic National Park

The national park system in the United States of America is considered to be one of our country’s best ideas and has inspired other nations to establish their own national parks.
Lassen Volcanic National Park is in good company with the other 390 national park units that are found throughout the United States. The national park system is comprised of a variety of sites that preserve, protect and provide an opportunity for visitors to learn their unique and significant resources and stories. On Saturday, August 22 the park will feature a selection of other park films to be shown in addition to Lassen Volcanic National Park –The Story Behind the Landscape at the new Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. “We hope visitors will learn about some of the other wonderful parks in our country that they may want to visit in the future,” said Park Superintendent Darlene M. Koontz.
Lassen’s film will begin on the hour throughout the day, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and other park films on each half hour with the last showing at 5:30 p.m. Visitors will have an opportunity to see films from other national parks, national historic sites, national scenic riverways, national battlefields and national monuments.
