Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is now accepting applications for the 2024 summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program. YCC engages young people in meaningful work experiences at national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and fish hatcheries, while developing an ethic of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. No prior experience needed, just an eagerness to make a difference. Participants will get paid to work, learn, and gain leadership skills.

There will be up to three YCC enrollees (nine total) recruited for positions at Spring Canyon, Fort Spokane, and Kettle Falls. Please indicate on your application which area or areas you are interested in working. Positions are open to students who are at least 15 years old but will not reach 19 years old by the end of the season. This is non-residential employment, and all enrollees must provide their own transportation to and from work, as well as a social security number prior to entrance into the program. Employment is scheduled to start June 24, 2024 and continue through August 10, 2024. Enrollees will be paid the Washington State minimum hourly wage for 40-hours a week.Employment is scheduled to start June 24, 2024 and continue through August 10, 2024. To apply, contact the National Park Service or a local high school for a YCC application form. Forms are also available through the Youth Conservation Corps website. Applications must be received at our Coulee Dam Office by Friday, April 12, 2024.
