Additional Closures Due to Flooding

In addition to closing the Chilkoot Trail to due to flooding conditions along the Taiya River, the NPS has now also closed the Dyea campground.

Although precipitation has decreased, water levels along the Taiya River continue to rise, currently at 19.34. The entrance road and several campsites have flooded.

Park officials will assess conditions daily to determine if the campground and Chilkoot Trail can be reopened. Contact the Trail Center at 907-983-9234 for the latest trail conditions and closure information. A follow-up press release will be issued once sites has been reopened.
