Skagway – Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is seeking public comment on the proposed construction of a dormitory on Fourth Avenue. The dormitory will provide park housing for 12 employees. Construction is proposed to begin in spring 2019.
All are welcomed to a public meeting to discuss the proposal. The meeting will be held at the Skagway Traditional Council (11th and Broadway) on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 6-7pm. Learn more about the project and provide comments online through National Park Service - Planning, Environment and Public Comment - PEPC (nps.gov)
The proposed construction of a dormitory addresses the park’s need for staff housing. The dormitory will be designed to fit into the historic character of the Skagway Historic District through its architectural style, massing, scale, finishes, siting, and details.
